The head of this Buddha image has been made
between 1400 -1550 AD by craftsmen
of the Phayao school.

Monks from Wat Umong (Umong Temple)
in Chiang Mai, North Thailand,
collected the big Buddha head and other
Buddha images from deserted monasteries
in Phayao province
in the years 1968 – 1970.

    wow, mostly they take care of there buddha’s pretty well, where is this taken, seems pretty much middle of nowhere, i was in Thailand
    quiet some time ago but never saw such bad state buddha’s :)
