Chiang Mai, the big city in the North of Thailand, offers a widely varied selection of hotels and accomodation. Accomodation is available in nearly every thinkable category. On the outskirts of Chiang Mai City there are a vast number of resort hotels, surrounded by the tropical nature. If You want to stay in Chiang Mai for a longer period, have a look at the “serviced appartments”, which are a very good bargain. Most hotels and guesthouses offer a free or chargeable pick-up service from Chiang Mai International Airport or from the Chiang Mai train station. Be warned, during holiday seasons, like Christmas, New Year, Songkran (Thai New Year, April) and Loy Krathong (November full moon) accomodations in and around Chiang Mai may be fully booked.
