    Songkran Festival 2008 in Thailand

    During 13.04.2008 - 15.04.2008 the Songkran Festival 2008 (Thai new year) took place all over Thailand.
    Since many years Chiang Mai in Norththailand is the center of the Songkran activities
    and the Thai new year is been celebrated there with the “world´s biggest waterbattle”.

    Every Year from 13.04. - 15.04 the Thai New Year Songkran Festival takes place all over Thailand.
    The Thaipeople go to the temples and washing the Buddha statues with jasmin water.
    They sprinkling water to each others head,
    followed by wishes for a good new year (Sawasdee pee mai).

    Loog Thung music is very popular in Thailand.
    “Pleng” means song
    and “pleng Look Thung” means “songs from the children of the ricefields”.
