Food, like the jungle eggs, which is prepared with an ancient cooking technique
in the wilderness, is in common parlance called jungle food.
While people are on a trek in the jungle,
there are no cooking pots, no pans, no ovens and also no tableware,
but there are still traditional, ancient cooking techniques.
Banana leaves, in Thai called Bai Tong,
are long-time heat- and fire-resistent
and are used like aluminium folie.
So it´s quite easy to prepare the tasty jungle eggs.
First make a form from banana leaves,
scramble the eggs and spice them with herbs
or whatever you willl have at hand
and fill them in Your banana leaf form,
then put it on live coals at a campfire.
Wait until the eggs are done and enjoy Your tasty jungle meal.
Nowadays jungle food, still prepared using ancient cooking techniques,
became quite popular in Thailand and is also sold at markets in big cities.
The jungle eggs on the left side off our picture contains Surimi,
an imitation crab meat, which is a big hit all around Asia.
While You´re along the way in the jungle,
You have to abandon delicacies like that
and eat what mother nature provides for You.
