Chili dips, in Thailand called Nam Prik, are beloved by Thai people
and there is a big variety available. For most foreigners (Farangs),
the Nam Prik dishes, like Nam Prik Pla Too are much to fiercy.
Nam Prik, is eaten with the fingers,
accompanied by Thai rice or stickky rice and steamed or fresh vegetables.


Nam Prik Pla Too Chili Dip

Recipe: Nam Prik Pla Too (Thai Chili Dip with mackerel (Pla Too)
Ingredients:
Oil for frying
1 Thailand mackerel Pla Too
2 red thai shallots, minced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 long, green chili
1-8 Thai Chili Prik Kee Noo
1/2 teaspoon Umami MSG food enhancer
2 teaspoon fish sauce
juice of 2 limes
1 tablespoon hot water

Preperation:
Fry garlic, shallots and green chilies in a little bit of oil until they got a bit of colour ,
than add the mixture to a mortar and grind it until it becomes a paste.
Add the flesh of the Thai mackerel and all other ingredients to the mortar
and grind it until it becomes a smooth paste.
Serve the Nam Prik Pla Too Chili Dip with Thai rice or sticky rice
and fresh and/or steamed vegetables.
