Building Phrasai Sand Chedis on Songkran

At the second day of the Songkran Festival, called “Wan Nao”,
many Thai Buddhists are going to the tempel and are building sand chedis.

The building of a “Phrasai”, short for “Phra Chedi Sai”
should bring fortune and prosperity for the new year.
Some people are digging coins at the bottom of the “Phrasai”,
At the end the sand pagodas are decorated with paper garlands and flags.
