Suk san wan keut, Thai language for Happy Birthday.
The Thailand Style Happy Birthday celebration is quite a bit different
from how people are celebrating their birthday in the western world.
Yesterday we celebrated the birthday of Mau,
a young schoolboy from Buriram, Isaan (North-east Thailand).
The day started at 5:00 o´clock in the morning with merrit-making.
Mau went to the temple and gave food to the monks.
At evening he was eating together with his friends
and at 12:00 o´clock midnight the birthday cake with the candles has been given to him.
After the cake was cutted into pieces
and a piece of the birthday cake was given to all his friends,
he got his face scribbled with the cream of the cake.

Suk san wan keut, Mau, Happy Birthday !!!
The Thai-Eyes crew wishes You the best for Your future.
May You always stay happy !!!

and all the fun we had together.
We will never forget You and hope we will meet again soon.

Hehe. I guess that makes fun :)

I just came back from my 3 week holiday in Thailand…and I totally fell in love with the Thais and the country.
Hope I’m gonna stay there soon again and a bit longer. I was so sad about going home again :(
and I really wanted to know a bit more about their traditions…
