While the Songkran festival 2009 is overshadowed by the redshirt protests
against the current government, bookings for hotels dropped by 50 %.
Restaurants, bars and other entertainment places are empty
and have to sack parts of their staff,
but there is no solution for the political trouble in Thailand in sight.
