Stop Thailand Police Traffic Control
By Thai-Eyes | September 7, 2008
Many Thaipeople do not care much about traffic laws.
Helmets are required and You have to own a driving license,
if You want to drive a motorcycle in Thailand.
At several times a day and also at night
the Thai police is establishing checkpoints to control the traffic.
If You are not wearing a helmet, You will be stopped by the police of Thailand,
even if You´re a foreigner (farang) and You have to pay a fine for the delict.
For every delict,You will be fined about 200.- Baht.
No helmet 200.- Baht
No driving license another 200.- Baht
No driving mirror (specially young Thai Kids like to remove the driving mirrors, they are not fancy)
another 200.- Baht
sometimes some of the motorcyclists are ending up with
a fine more than 1000.- Baht for different delicts.
If they can´t pay the fine immediatly the motorcycle will be confiscated
and can be released after paying the fine at the relevant Police office.

You want to avoid all this hustle ???
Just follow our advice and wear a helmet, while driving a motorbike.

Actually the reason you should wear a helmet is that it could potentially save your life or serious injury. It’s a safety issue and the police officers have a duty to enforce this law.
Traffic police are not setting up these check points just so they can give you a hard time.
