    Thailand Recipe Yum Woon Sen Glass Noodle Salad

    The hot & spicy Thai glass noodle salad “Yum Woon Sen”
    is a well-liked companion to Thai whiskey or beer.
    If Thai people come together to enjoy the evening
    with some alcoholic beverages,
    there has to be food on the table as well.

    Recipe: Yum Woon Sen, Thai Glass Noodle Salad
    Ingredients:
    1 small package glass noodles (100 g)
    100 g fresh shrimps/prawns
    100 g minced meat (pork)
    2-3 tablespoons dried shrimps
    2-3 tablespoons pealed peanuts
    3 red Thai onions or shallots
    fine stripes of a carrot
    5-6 red Thai chilies “Prik Kee Noo”
    1-2 spring onions
    juice from 2-3 limes
    1 1/2 tablespoons fish sauce
    1-2 teaspoons golden syrup
    1/2 teaspoon Umami MSG (Monosodiumglutamat)

    Preperation:
    Soak glass noodles in hot water about 5 min
    and give them in a bowl.
    Boil about 1/2 liter water
    and cook the shrimps and the minced meat in it until done,
    then pour the water away.
    Add shrimps and minced meat to the glass noodles.
    Add peanuts, dried shrimps, minced Thai chilies,
    spring onions and red onions in fine rings,
    carrot stripes, fish sauce, golden syrup, Umami Msg and lime juice
    and mix well.
    Season with fish sauce (salty), golden syrup (sweet) and limejuice (sour)
    and serve lukewarm.
