Young Buddhist Monk From Thailand
By Thai-Eyes | September 18, 2008
Most of the young Thai boys and men spending a temporary time (mostly 3 month)
as a buddhist monk in a temple in Thailand.
In a ritual initiation, they got shaved their hair and eyebrows,
which means, that they are no longer a member of the profanatory Thai society.
Buddhist monks are highly respected by the Thai people.
Young buddhist monks have to follow 10 strict rules,
while fully ordained monks have to follow 227
and buddhist nuns 311 rules.
Many of the young Thai kids become a monk in honour to their parents
or to his Majesty the King of Thailand.
