While we lighted upon this young Thai schoolboy, sitting on the road
blowing air bubbles, it gave us food for thought.
How his future will be ?
Like a bursting soap bubble ?
While many tourists think Thailand is the paradise on earth,
for young Thai kids it´s more like a hell.
Many of them have to leave school long before they could get a graduation,
because of their parents run out of money.
Later on, in their life it´s more than difficult to get a job
to afford their livings, even with a graduation.
Wages are very low,
as there been minimum wages in 2008 from 148.- to 203.- Thai Baht,
depending on the provinces (Changwat), young Thai boys and girls reported,
that they nowadays just get about 80.- Baht a day for a 12 – 14 hour job.
If they´re lucky they´ll get food in addition
and a room which they have to share with the other staff,
but that´s more than rare nowadays.
Many young Thai kids start to abuse and sometimes also sell drugs
to get out of their hopeless lives and end up in prison.
The blow bubbles bursted !

Attack on Thai Eyes Thailand

Well, as a Thai citizen, I don’t think it’s that bad. All my friends got their jobs after we graduated from the university. And seriously I’ve been growing up in North East of Thailand, which should be more rural than other places, but I’ve seen so many smart friends who became successful (in some levels, at least they don’t have problems living) I’ve never seen anyone who had to quit school because their parents ran out of money. That sounds too dramatic.
